The first time I was asked to speak in public as an adult ended with me running in terror out of the building without even answering the request. I drove home and waited as the hyperventilating subsided and fervently hoped nobody would ever ask me to speak again.

In 2017 I discovered a magical thing known as a 3-Day Life Changing Seminar and I started attending one twice every month for 8 months straight. My life was never the same again.

My fear of public speaking was gradually replaced by a desire to change lives from the stage because I was so inspired by those speakers who had been changing mine! I soon felt a call to make the switch from audience to speaker and yes it was absolutely terrifying. I often wondered if I would ever get over the fear enough to find a way to get on stage! Which leads me to my favorite quote on public speaking.

“According to most studies, people's number one fear is public speaking. Number two is death. This means to the average person, if you go to a funeral, you're better off in the casket than giving the eulogy.” - Jerry Seinfeld
